A friend sent me a link to a recipe for Nutella Ice Cream. And it sat. And sat I saved it to Pocket so i would not forget. And i kept seeing it. Sitting there. Staring at me. You'd think with it being Nutella and ice cream that it would have been made almost immediately.
But, the ice cream maker had to be found. Then put in the freeze. But, finally, I had all the ingredients on hand and the time to assemble them into the final form.
The recipe is straightforward and easy. It requires absolutely no cooking. Pop all the ingredients into a blender and buzz away. Pour resulting mixture into your favorite ice cream maker and let it rip.
Once the maker stops you are left with a Nutella ice cream that is a soft-serve consistency. And you can eat it as is. it's great. Or, put it in an airtight container and pop it in the freezer for a few hours and you will be rewarded with a deliciousness that is nearly an O in the mouth.
Summary: Is this worth making again? You betcha. It's creamy and smooth and full of Nutella-y goodness. Do not attempt to make this with a Nutella knockoff. they are not as creamy as Nutella and will give you a grainy end result.
What would I do different: Nothing. Okay, I might add one extra tablespoon of Nutella. I'm not adding it to The Lab. It's good on it's own. Is it worth tinkering with? Sure. But not enough to look for some sort of Ultimate version.
